Description:

Learn about the communications options available for interfacing electric submeters, interval data recorders and pulse-output water, gas, and steam into the building management system (BMS) for reduced energy use, higher cost savings and greater control of facility operations. A survey of leading protocols, including BACnet MSfTP, LonWorks, Modbus RTU and Ethernet-based offerings such as Modbus TCP and BACnet lP will be discussed, along with equipment operations and installation issues, providing session attendees with a general understanding of the issues involved in integrating meter data in the BMS environment. A sampling of real-world facility case studies illustrating meter operations and user benefits will be shown.
