Advanced lighting controls are an essential and often overlooked energy management strategy. Lighting averaged 37 percent of a commercial building's energy consumption--typically, the largest energy load. Historically, lighting has not been considered to be a "controllable" building load, since conventional lighting control technologies do not allow centralized "intelligent" management of lighting. However, advanced lighting controls can deliver 50-75 percent lighting energy savings and contribute up to 18 LEED points in multiple categories. Help your customers recognize advanced lighting controls as a way to reduce their costs and energy consumption.
