NECA 2010 Boston Leads the Charge to Recovery

NECA 2010 Boston, the National Electrical Contractors Association’s annual convention and the premier tradeshow in the electrical contracting industry, is shaping up to be the best collection of management workshops, thought-provoking speakers, networking opportunities, product exhibits, and entertainment events in NECA’s history.

“I’m constantly impressed with the resiliency and tenacity of NECA contractors,” remarked Rob Colgan, executive director of marketing. “Nine years ago, in the aftermath of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, NECA members refused to cancel their meeting in Washington, D.C., and flocked to the city five short weeks later for their centennial convention. In the face of the current economic environment, that spirit remains strong.”

Colgan noted that even though new construction is down, opportunities are growing for electrical contractors in the expanding energy solutions market. “There is no better place to acquire the technical knowledge and develop the sales and management skills you need to be successful in this exciting industry than at NECA 2010 Boston,” Colgan said.

Beth Ellis, NECA executive director of convention/exposition, reports that registrations for the event are running ahead of projections and historical patterns, and that exhibitors are just as optimistic about opportunities as NECA members. Ellis says, “Exhibit space at the NECA Show is 97 percent sold out. The few choice spots that remain are going fast!”

NECA 2010 Boston will be held October 2-5 at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. More information and online registration is available at www.necaconvention.org. Press interested in attending the event should contact Beth Margulies, NECA Director, Public Relations.
